All the preparations were reinfused to the same individuals. Approximately 56 percent of the platelets in whole blood were recovered to PRP and the average survival time of the reinfused platelets in PRP was 7.06 days. Average recovery percentage of platelets from PRP to PC was approximately 63% and the average survival time of the re-infused platelets in PC was 6.67 days, respectively. Resuspending procedure in PC was difficult and it was thought that platelet activation by strong centrifugation interfere the procedure. To prevent the platelet activation during the PC preparation and modify the recovery rate of the platelets, 1μM prostaglandin E1 was added to PRP before PC preparation. The platelets recovery percentage was drastically improved to 82.5% and no significant difference was found among the platelet survival days of the three kinds of platelet preparations.
