Regional agricultural producers actually do provide some merit to consumers, because through them consumers can gain understanding of the production process, admire the local scenery and learn about the local economy. Above all, their greatest merit is that they promote consumers' practical understanding of agricultural production. However, a problem remains in that they tend to have less quality and a little expensive costs, resulting in a reduction in their standing. Why do they have these difficulties? Because their production techniques are not high and they don't have good cost performance. Accordingly, direct sales cooperatives and regional agricultural producers need to establish partnerships to overcome these difficulties. As a case study, we report on S Agricultural Cooperative's organic farming section and B Consumer Cooperative's direct sales. Organic farming is certificated and requires a certain level of skills. Over the last 10 years, the organic section of S Agricultural Cooperative has sold over 60% of its produce to B Consumer Cooperative. This relationship has continued because it is a win-win situation for both parties.
