The biochemical properties of these strains were investigated. The API codes of the strains were 266022210 and 166032210, and both were identified to be S.epidermidis. Both strains showed alkaline phosphatase and α-glucosidase activities, but no constitutive enzymes specific to MRSA growth-inhibiting bacteria were detected. In a susceptibility test of 15 drugs for MRSA growth-inhibiting bacteria, neither bacterium showed marked resistance to any of the drugs, showing that these MRSA growth-inhibiting bacteria are not resistant strains.
