As many as 210 skulls of animals killed by car accidents were exhibited. During the period of July 2007 and March 2010, 419 animals were killed: raccoon dogs (Nyctereutes procyonoides, 57 %), masked palm civets (Paguma larvata, 31 %), badgers (Meles meles, 8 %) and others (4 %). Road-kills more frequently happened at the intermediate zone between countryside and urbanized zones, probably because the road and car densities are low in the country zone, and the wildlife density is low in the urbanized zone, whereas both the traffic and wildlife densities are high in the intermediate zone. The exhibited specimens included broken skulls because although such skulls ate not valuable for biological specimens, they have effects to impress how cruel such car accidents are to audience. In fact, many visitors were impressed by these specimens., P(論文), 40018959134, 特集, application/pdf, FEATURE ARTICLES}, pages = {123--127}, title = {ロードキル展の記録}, volume = {21/22}, year = {2011} }
